But it’s lighter and healthier and still FULL Flavored! THM- Deep S Oven-fried chicken has long been one of my very favorite ways to serve up crispy, flavorful chicken without standing over a hot skillet.
Now the air fryer has kicked this dish up a notch by cooking it faster and crispier than I’d thought possible in the past. Plus the small heated space of the air fryer makes for a condensed cooking time that’s about half that of traditional ovens.
I made this 4 Ingredient Air Fried Chicken the other night and while it was cooking I diced up and stirred together my Dill Garden Salad.
I’m calling it my 30 minute supper!

Rub them with oil, sprinkle on a couple of the perfect chicken spices and put them in the air fryer. Then set the time and temp and a few minutes later you’re done!!
*Note: 4 chicken thighs fit easily into my basket. I’ve also increased the amount of oil and seasoning and added a couple of drum sticks to the mix, as the situation required. Another option is to just double the recipe and make it in a larger air fryer, or refill the basket and cook a second batch (while the first is covered in a warm plate on the stove top).
*You could also use bone in chicken breast with skin to make this. For two large breast cut them in half and make two short pieces and treat each like a separate thigh.

The market is pretty crowded with a variety of air fryers now but a few seem to be rising to the top. I actually own two but my current favorite is the Instant Vortex listed below. It does only have one square rack (basket) but it holds quite a bit since the basket is square and really browns and crisps well! Affiliate link:

I have boneless skinless chicken thighs. Would the cook time be the same? If not, what would you recommend?
