Chai Latte Syrup Concentrate
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups water
8 bags of chai tea (play with the strength on this as this is a strong brew)
1/2 cup Gentle Sweet
1/8 tsp. xanthan gum
Instructions
Heat 2 1/4 cups of very hot water in a small saucepan. Pour 1 cup of the hot water into a container with the tea bags and steep 5 minutes..then remove the tea bags and squeeze them well. Now add in as much hot water as you need to make sure that your tea concentrate measures at least 2 cups.
To the container of warm tea add the sweetener and 1/8 tsp xanthan gum sprinkled lightly on top of the warm liquid and whisk well!
*Xanthan gum just firms up and binds the concentrate together do nothing separates but doesn't make it thick.
Iced or Hot Chai Tea Lattes from Concentrate
Yield 4-8
If you love chai tea and want to make it more often try the convenience and consistency of making Chai Tea Lattes from Concentrate using this syrup.
Ingredients
To make a 12-16 oz. Iced Chai Tea Latte:
1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
1/4-1/2 cup (taste and adjust as needed) chai tea concentrate
1 1/2 tablespoon collagen protein (I whisk it in but you can mix it in a small processor or use a frother)
2 tablespoons cream or 2 tablespoons half and half for FP
Mix well and pour into a 16-ounce glass and add enough ice to fill the glass to the top and Enjoy!
Try the Hot Chai Latte too:
3/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk
2 T cream or 2 T half and half for fp snack
1/4-1/3 cup (adjust as needed) chai tea concentrate
1 1/2 tablespoon collagen protein
Instructions
For the iced latte:
Mix well in a 16-24 ounce glass and add enough ice to fill the glass to the top and Enjoy!
I used a 24 oz glass~ pictured~ because I wanted it to be icy!
For the warm latte:
Warm the concentrate, almond milk and cream OR half and half in a small saucepan until it is a warm enough temperature to enjoy but don't let it boil. Remove from the heat and whisk in the collagen and optional vanilla extract.
Notes
If you top the hot mixture with a little whipped cream you can drizzle a little extra tea concentrate syrup on top. And for additional cinnamon sweetness try sprinkled it with a Cinnamon Sweetener combination.
I added the FP option for the hot latte as this drink can be very warming and comforting before bed when you want just a little extra protein at night.

What brand of chai tea bags did you use?
Hi Jan. I had added an Amazon link with references but for some reason it’s not showing up. I used the Numi rooibos chai 🙂
I made it with the Kroger store brand chai tea bag and the flavor was very disappointing. Had to add lots of spices. Was yours okay with just your brand of tea and no additional spices?
I should clarify, not a
complaint about the recipe but about the tea that I bought!
This is delicious! I was missing my iced chai lattes, but this is creamy and just as good. Love the convenience of the concentrate. Thank you!
Glad to know that you’re enjoying it, Amy! Thanks for stopping by to let me know. 🙂
Could you just put the vanilla into the syrup to make it simpler at time to serve?
I would think so Wendi. 🙂
This is my drink of choice. I keep a quart of the concentrate in my fridge and make my quart size yeti full each morning with FP version over ice. It’s so good! A quart of syrup lasts about six days for me. Thank you!
You’re welcome, Martie! So glad that’s it a help to you. 😀
This is SO good! Having the concentrate is so convenient. Thank you for this recipe!
