Low Carb JalapeƱo Smoked Turkey Chowder

Tweaked from Darcies's fabulous Jalapeno Chicken Bacon Chowder.

Ingredients

So here are my tweaks to make this wonderful chowder using leftover smoked turkey instead of chicken and bacon:

  1. Increase the amount of poultry to 2 pounds instead of one and add one cup of this smoked meat in at the beginning of the cooking. (If you have no way to measure you pre-cooked meat just put as much as you'd like to make it a chowder style soup at the end of the cooking period.)
  2. Cook the recipe according to Darcies directions and OMIT the bacon but add the rest of the precooked, turkey at the end.
  3. A few more notes: I made this without the heavy whipping cream accidentally once and we still loved it. I made it once without the celery because I just never have it on hand and it was great. My husband grows the hottest jalapeƱos I've ever eaten and I used them so I cut the chili powder amount in half and omitted the red pepper and it was still very spicy!
