Most East Texas cooks have their own idea of a favorite Southern Barbeque Sauce THM S, Low Carb, Low Fat and this is mine!
Saucy, spicy and tangy, but mildly sweet this barbecue sauce is now low carb with no added sugar and of course, no flavor sacrifice whatsoever!
If you are comparing it to a store bought bbq sauce this sauce would be closer to Stubb’s than KC Masterpiece.
Use this Southern Barbecue Sauce on beef, chicken or pork for grilling, baking or in the crockpot.
This versatile sauce will work for either S, E or FP settings so let’s get cooking! Many thanks to my taste testers; my husband and barbecue buddy Steve and fellow THMer Tammy.
MrsCriddlesKitchen has a sweeter BBQ Sauce that you can also check out here.

Nita says
Could you define what size can tomato sauce? I’ve been waiting for something like this!!
Teresia says
Hi Nita! I am changing that to read 8 oz can. Thanks so much for mentioning it and I hope you enjoy this sauce!
Alicia says
Where do you find Worcester sauce without sugar?
Teresia says
I just use the regular kind because it is such a small amount Alicia. Please check with an admin if you’re unsure of this. I have never seen any particular brand specified. It is usually 1 or 2 tsp or so spread throughout a whole recipe and in the case of this condiment, it might be more than one dish.

Just made another fresh batch today for the big smoked brisket. This is my ALL TIME favorite “on plan” BBQ sauce Teresia. Thank you so much for sharing. I finally measured out my “liquid smoke” preference and I use 1T for our taste buds. Thanks again!
Teresia says
Thanks Tammy I’m so glad you like it ?!
Tammy Ford says
T – would you please add the can size on the Tomato Sauce to the ingredient’s list? I knew you had answered it in the comments, but just wanted to see if you could place it in the list. Preparing for the big picnic! I sure do love this sauce!
Teresia says
Hi Tammy and thanks I’ll add it there.
TAMMY FORD says
I used 3T Lakanto Golden (erythritol and monk fruit extract) and 1T liquid smoke with this round, along with a little stovetop time to marry the flavors. It’s SO GOOD! I appreciate this recipe so much Teresia!
