Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Recipes THM S Low Carb is a wonderful collection that has been years in the making! I’m updating it just in time for Valentines 2020.
Rich, fudgy, buttery tasting, chocolate desserts and all are Trim Health Mama and KETO friendly and you won’t find one sugar-free tasting dish in the bunch!
Reconciling the flavors of chocolate and stevia-based sweeteners has been my pet project for almost 4 years and it has now pretty much evolved into something of an art form in the Trim Healthy Mama community.
If you have a chance to try any or all of these little gems I hope you will leave a comment or otherwise let me know what you think. 🙂
Watch for affiliate links to products I have used in these recipes when testing them and those which I can fully recommend.
The following recipes were originally formulated using Lily’s sugar-free chocolate baking chips but they are expensive through Amazon. I was able to get them through my local natural store at half the price shown in the link.
The Trim Healthy Mama chocolate chips are getting rave reviews and the price is reasonable if you can get them in bulk so order some soon. They are available in 8 oz or 16 oz. You can find my full affiliate link with more info for this at the bottom of this post.
Please remember! The flavors of these dark sugar-free chocolate chips are much more concentrated than the sugary type so whether melting them to make deliciously textured chocolate shells or adding them into recipes a little will go a long way.
Wondering how I can claim that these recipes will taste very close to their sugary counterparts? Gentle Sweet sweetener and Lakanto’s new erythritol/monk fruit confectioners sweetener are both, hands down, the best sugar free sweeteners available for chocolate recipes so the secret is in how well these combine.
Here are a few products you might need to make the following recipes. And if you’d care to blend your own powdered sweetener I‘ve provided the products below that will help you get started.
IN the recipes that follow you’ll find these categories:
Chocolate Shells and Toppings made from Melted Chocolate Chips
Chocolate Desserts with Sugar-Free Chocolate Chips
Chocolate Candies and Fudges made from Melted Chocolate Chips in the Microwave
But don’t get me wrong, there are some great tasting cocoa powder recipes out there too. Here are some of my most popular ones:
Three Minute German Chocolate Mug Cake

Chocolate Covered Cheesecake Bites – S, Low Carb is the recipe that started my sugar free chocolate chip craze. Originally posted back in 2014 because I have always loved cheesecake bites and every sugar free cheesecake bite recipe I could find on Pinterest was made with skinny chocolate. Skinny chocolate certainly deserves a place of honor in a sugar free diet, but I wanted to get closer to the cheesecake bites that I’d enjoyed so much in the past. So I developed this chocolate shell made from some wonderful sugar free chocolate chips with extra sweeteners and oils added and wow! It surpassed all that I could have imagined. Texas Toffee Bars – S, Low Carb was converted from a recipe that was an entry in a local dessert competition which I'd kept around and intended to make for years. One evening my husband really wanted something chocolaty sweet and so I remembered this recipe and used the sugar free chocolate shell recipe (from the cheesecake bites) to convert it in one try. My husband, who is not strictly sugar free, always insists that these bars are one of his all-time favorite desserts. Add that to the perk that you can easily double this recipe and store it in the freezer for a long time or take it to gatherings and this one is definitely a winner! Good straight from the fridge and absolutely wonderful at room temp. Chocolate Covered Strawberry Truffle Pizza – S, Low Carb is a naturally photogenic recipe but let me assure you that this one is even yummier than it looks. The joy that this dessert brings to the whole family every single time I make it is easily equal to the original sugary strawberry truffle pizza. That one was so good that we entered it in a dessert contest when the kids were younger. Chocolate Chip Skillet Cake – THM-S, Keto was created by one of my best blogging buddies, Tammy. I told someone recently that I fearlessly take this dish to gatherings and don’t even bother announcing that it is sugar free until someone asks for the recipe, which they always do… Chocolate Chip Espresso Mug Cake or Muffins – S, Low Carb is one of my favorite mug cakes ever and not one bit “eggy”. If you’re looking for a little mug cake that hits that cakey sweet spot and satisfies your chocolate craving with a hint of espresso be sure and check this one out! When I decided to remake some of our favorite fast fudge recipes I started with Five Minute Microwave Walnut Fudge – THM-S, KETO and wow was it a hit! It’s a good tasting fudge that you can whip up in 5 minutes using Trim Healthy Mama approved, low carb ingredients? That’s like…. faster than a trip to the store to buy high fructose corn sweetened delights. This Five Minute Thin Mint Fudge – THM-S, KETO soon followed with the help of my buddy Tammy and it is a much-loved addition to the peppermint mocha season or anytime, really. <3 Five Minute Milk Chocolate Fudgey Bars – THM-S, KETO is a real departure from my original fudge type recipes. I took some extra steps to insure that this fudge would have a creamier texture without being too soft to serve at room temp. This is definitely my favorite one of the whole line. Click the link and try it and you'll see why. I remember thinking once, years ago, that I would never be able to stay on any diet long term, because I loved fudge brownies too much, and especially, brownie batter! This Fudge Brownie Protein Batter (Single Serve) – THM-S, Low Carb has been my go-to quick-fix chocolate recipe from the first bite! It’s so protein packed that it will easily see you through for hours and is a very satisfying and easy to prepare chocolate treat using sugar free chocolate chips! These Sugar-free White Chocolate Chip Macadamic Nut Cookies THM-S, Low Carb are, as the kids say, Da Bomb! Like I've been saying I'm not a big fan of dark chocolate and I'd even say that white chocolate chips have always been my favorite. This cookie is not crispy but it’s not soft and delicate. This is a firm dense cookie that will totally remind you of a real live white chocolate chip cookie! Turtle Cheesecake Bites Low Carb, THM S are chocolate covered, caramel cheesecake bliss! This one is a tweak on my original Chocolate Covered Cheesecake Bites and just a little bit richer for special occasions. <3 This simple, dairy free Chocolate Candy Assortment THM-S, KETO is a favorite for me when I want a light, bright chocolate treat. As I've mentioned before I've never been a dark chocolate fan in the first place so finding a way to lighten up these dark sugar free chocolate chips, without dairy, has been an ongoing search for me and this recipe finally helped me accomplish this goal.Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Recipes THM S Low Carb
And I might add that the first batch I made and shared around brought me an immediate offer of $20 to make them again. Hey, that’s over $1 per bite I might need to change gigs! 😉
Adding the extra cocoa butter is the trick that makes this a delicious, satisfying and versatile chocolate that can be used as a basis for many more recipes to come.

You need to add the TJ Shake (her choc chip cookie dough one)) that is my and my wifes fave
Teresia says
Good to know Eric I’ll have to give that one a try! I usually include other bloggers in my roundups but this is a collection of recipes made with chocolate chips from my blog only.
I will be expanding and adding to it as I add more of this sort of recipe but I wanted them all in one post. I hope you get a chance to check some of these out too. 🙂

I was able to get some Lily’s chocolate chips in bulk, but then I didn’t know how to use them. So I’ve been searching…Can’t wait to try these recipes! Thank you so much.
Lisa Tapper says
Where’d you find in bulk?
Teresia says
I haven’t found them in bulk technically, Lisa. I just buy several bags when I find them on sale. Sorry about the confusion. <3

These look wonderful! The only trouble — I can’t buy sugar-free chocolate chips here in Thailand. Is there a recipe for homemade chocolate chips floating around anywhere? I can get baking chocolate and cocoa. I make a homemade version of Gentle Sweet. Surely chocolate chips can happen from those? Thanks!
