This recipe was moved over from my old blogspot blog and was originally a valentine post. The flavors of this Sugar Free Tiramisu Smoothie are reminiscent of the tiramisu dessert handmade by the owner of a little Italian restaurant in our area. For valentines day I always ask to visit and splurge on that wonderful dessert. I created this dessert coffee drink as a reminder of these special trips to this restaurant.
This Sugar Free Tiramisu Smoothie is not only one of my favorite coffee drinks, it is one of my favorite THM Smoothies and that is saying a lot because on the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan we have access to some fantastic smoothie recipes! I wouldn’t trade any of them, but I do love this one, A LOT!

Other flavors include Mock Cinnamon Dolce, Pumpkin Spice Latte Syrup, Peppermint Mocha, Salted Caramel Mocha, Tiramisu Smoothie and the Iced Caramel Macchiato and I rounded them all up a few months ago and when I posted Sugar Free Coffee House Syrups.

Tiramisu Smoothie (LowCarb, S, FP)
Ingredients
- 2 tsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 tablespoons whipping cream (S) OR 2 tablespoons half and half (FP)
- 1/3 cup low fat cottage cheese (I use Daisy Brand 2% for low fat and low carb option)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract **
- 1/4 tsp rum extract **
- 1/4 tsp. orange extract**
- 2 tablespoons Gentle Sweet or 4 teaspoons Truvia or Pyure (or more, make this taste like a dessert to you)
- 1 tiny pinch of salt (when chocolate and stevia are involved I always use salt)
- 1/4 cup strong brewed and cooled coffee (I make it stronger than usual or just add in some instant espresso or good quality instant to get a stronger flavor)
- OR just add 1 tsp espresso powder instead of the coffee for a quick fix 1/2 scoop (2 tablespoons) Pristine Whey Protein or on plan plain protein powder (I love THM's)
Optional 1/4 tsp. xanthan gum 8-12 ice cubes (I don't like icy--just very cold)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients together in a good blender and blend untill smooth.
- Top with extra whipped cream if desired.
- Garnish with a pinch of extra cinnamon and a little grated dark chocolate.
Notes
**Good quality flavorings are essential to this recipe. I used Kroger brand rum flavoring, organic vanilla extract, and Central Market orange extract.

I didn’t have the special flavorings of rum, orange, and half & half but wanted to try it with what I did have. I subbed cream cheese for the cottage cheese. What a supremely delicious drink … so creamy & just plain YUM! Can’t wait to get the missing ingredients and kick it up a notch!! Definitely a winner!!

Thanks Deanna! The extra flavorings will definitely be an additional kick, and worth having around for other recipes too. Glad you liked this drink and thanks so much for letting me know!

You need to fix the typing at the bottom part of this post. I can see all the ([eafl id=2175 name=”) typing. Looking forward to trying this.

Thanks for letting me know Kelly. The upkeep on blogs is just constant and it is hard to keep on top of it all so I appreciate the heads up.

Teresia,
WowZa!!! What a wonderfully complex flavorful smoothie!
I did add a handful of spinach to get some leafy greens in.
Made me feel like I was at an AWESOME coffee shop!
Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Well thanks so much, Dianne! Comments like this really make my day, I’m so glad you loved it and that awesome coffee shop feeling is exactly what I’m going for on these drinks. I’ll have to try that spinach idea too 🙂 <3

Very good! I didn’t have rum extract so subbed maple extract and put 1 t. instant decaf powder for coffee. This is.very similar to the Lite “S” recipe fir Mock Arby’s Jamocha Shake I printed off somewhere a few years back. Only difference is that one doesn’t use rum extract or orange but maple. Also yours doubles the cream which made yours better of course! I usually add orange extract to my Reeses Shakes too! Thanks for a new favorite!!
Teresia says
Hello Marva. Glad you liked the shake I also have a hot version of it too. I have a basic recipe that I follow for my smoothies and just swap out flavorings etc., so I can see why there would be similarities. I’ll have to try the Jamocha sometime too. <3

New to keto. What does S and FP mean at end of recipe name? Thank you in advance
Teresia says
S means low carb, which is usually Keto friendly too. FP means low carb and low fat so it should be an acceptable keto addition too.
