A Texas original nice and spicy seasoning that is sugar-free, msg-free, and made with fresh seasonings and herbs, plus health-promoting mineral salt.
I heartily believe that the best seasonings enhance natural flavors, not cover them up. But they should go even further than that and actually promote health. This Texas Original Seasoning Rub for Beef has taken a while to post as I wanted to make sure that it would still deliver its full flavor on different cuts of meat and yet be fortified with health-promoting seasonings and herbs and it passed all the tests with flying colors!
Sprinkle it liberally on your burgers before cooking, shake it onto your steaks, or cover a brisket with it liberally and rub it right in because this seasoning will bring out the beef’s natural flavors in a big Texas way!
This wonderful seasoning blend comes to us from one of the best country cooks that I’ve ever known. After eating a brisket that had been cooked in an oven and was as good as any we’d ever eaten from any barbecue place, my husband literally pestered “Ms. Shirley” into giving him this original recipe. I later asked if I could share it with other people and got her full permission.
For those who were interested enough in this recipe to scroll down to here let me just share my heart with you on this matter, “We have corrupted the whole idea and intent of what seasonings and condiments are supposed to be!” For instance, a good salad dressing should promote the digestion of the raw foods it covers with probiotics and or natural vinegar and herbs; a great salad dressing should too, but it will taste great doing it.
This seasoning contains nice amounts of the wonderful herb ~ Celery Seed ~ can act as a natural diuretic among many other things. Then there’s the wonderful white pepper and the list goes on, but do your research and discover the wonderful properties of the herbs and spices contained in this seasoning blend alone. In addition, the quick DIY seasoning blends I’ve linked to contain even more nutritional support in the form of turmeric and crushed red pepper just to name a few.
In my new DIY seasoning post that is still under construction, I will link to some spices and herbs that are budget friendly but I will also give bulk options for fresher and non-radiated herbs for those who are able to make this investment in their health.
I hope you will enjoy this wonderfully flavored, nutritional powerhouse of a seasoning well and often!
