This Orange Cream Soda GGMS THM -Fp, is sugar free, low carb/low fat and tastes like a real fruity soft drink and nothing like vinegar.
These drinks are called Good Girl Moonshine by the authors of Aff link # Trim Healthy Mama and I’ve been drinking this particular spin on that drink by the quart, rapidly I might add, for the last few weeks. I admit that I’m sorry I’ve kept it to myself for that long, but I finally got pictures and here it is!
I used the orange wedges to identify and beautify the picture; the drink is flavored with pure orange extract or pure food grade orange essential oil. Getting a good image of this drink was difficult, because the protein powder in the drink made it cloudy but, wow, is it ever light, bright, and refreshing in real life.

Speaking of products I recommend, I cannot recommend the wonderful products from the Aff Link # THM store more! They are made from the finest ingredients available and top notch; each and every one and I have recommended them for years with and without an affiliate program. 🙂 <3
Please note that I specify a stevia/sugar alcohol sweetener in this drink but it can easily be sweetened to taste with (1/16 tsp or more) of a very high-quality stevia powder or stevia liquid drops. THM stevia is my absolute favorite but in a pinch I also use the Kal organic and those are the only two powdered stevias that I ever use.
Orange Cream Soda GGMS
Yield 1 Qt.
This Orange Cream Soda GGMS tastes like a real fruity soft drink and nothing like vinegar. It remains one of the most popular recipes on my blog for a good reason, so try it for yourself.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (I use Bragg's)
1 tablespoon Pristine Whey Protein or other on plan plain protein powder as a drink
(The tablespoon of whey makes this an FP but reducing this amount to 1 teaspoon whey powder will make this an all day sipper if you prefer not to drink it as a drink with your meal or snack)
1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger (I use high quality, organic powdered)
1/2 teaspoon pure orange extract (I use Kroger's brand and it is great)
- or 2 drops of food grade orange essential oil
Just keep stirring with each addition....
2 teaspoons Super Sweet Blend (I love this product in all ggms's, but it is especially good in this one)
Or use:
1 donk of THM Stevia and 1 teaspoon Truvia or Pyure
1 tsp Gentle Sweet and 2 donks stevia
2 cups of clean filtered water
1 cup of ice
1 cup of your favorite, very fizzy water, I use mineral water
Instructions
Add these ingredients in this order to a quart jar and you won't have any problems getting them mixed together. Stirring thoroughly with a straw mixes it in well.
Stir well and fill the quart up to the 3/4 mark with ice cubes and stir again. Now carefully top this drink off up to the top with a good fizzy mineral or seltzer water. Stir lightly and enjoy!

Teresia – wonder what the difference is between an “all-day sipper” compared to a drink for a snack or with a meal?
This IS a really good drink – anytime!
Teresia says
Hi, Kim! An all day sipper has to be an extreme FP so even the protein has to be very low. I love the creamy protein powder in this one so I make a half batch and drink it like soda with spicy meals but also make it with less protein for a sipper. Hope this helps and glad you’re enjoying the drink!

can I substitute collagen for the protein powder? I have trouble swallowing protein powder in drinks and smoothies, like it swells in my throat. (it’s a personal issue – I have issues with some other foods too.)
Sara Bumgarner says
I was curious about doing this as well. This is so delicious but I made it without the protein powder.

Just tried this and it’s great! It’ll definately help with the weaning off of sweet tea. Thanks for sharing!
Teresia says
Glad you liked it Nancy and that sweet tea thing is a challenge…good luck on your journey to sugar free! 🙂
